Good news for all the tech-savvy hunters out there: Many states across the country are now giving hunters the option to check in harvested game either online or with mobile smart phone applications.
Electronic check ins can be incredibly quick, easy and convenient for hunters, as evidenced by the video below from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Check it out:
Resources for online and/or mobile game reporting can be found for many states by following the links below:
Information required for game check in varies by state but may include permit ID number, hunter’s date of birth, hunter’s email address and mailing address, the date and time of harvest, the specie and *** of the harvest, antler points, the county in which it was harvested, land type, and type of bow or firearm used.
In addition to online and mobile check-in options, many states still offer physical harvest check-in stations for those who prefer this method. Like the online and mobile check-in options, physical check-in stations typically require the same type of information, as listed above, from hunters checking in harvests.
For more information, visit your state’s Department of Natural Resources website or contact your local DNR office.
Happy hunting!
