Cliff Pace Wins 2013 Bassmaster Classic

Petal, Mississippi's Cliff Pace is the 2013 Bassmaster Classic Champion. He achieved this lofty goal handily despite experiencing what he described as his 'hardest day of fishing in his life'. While Brandon Palaniuk gave chase and came close bringing in a 5-fish limit weighing 15-pounds and 4-ounces, Pace's four fish weighing 11-pounds 8-ounces were enough to secure a 3-day total of 54-pounds 12-ounces besting Palaniuk by 3-pounds 4-ounces.

Ike Wants a Hot Classic - 2013 Bassmaster Classic

Low profile is not what any BassFIRST fan would ever think of when describing Mike Iaconelli, but in reality the bass fishing Megastar has been keeping a low profile over the last year. He didn’t have a Top 10 year in the Angler of the Year standings, but did enough to make it back to the Classic.
One thing Iaconelli would like to see is the Classic return to being a season-ending event.

“I would prefer if the Classic was a season closer,” said Iaconelli. “I like some aspects of the Classic kicking off the season, but I prefer it as the season ending event.

Ott Needs Big Fish - 2013 Bassmaster Classic

Finding fish won’t be a problem for 2012 Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year runner-up Ott DeFoe, but catching fish large enough to take home the Classic title may be.
“What I can tell at this point is that catching fish will not be an issue,” said DeFoe. “I did better on the first day of practice, but I caught fish on all of the days. The problem was I only caught one good fish. I’m not happy with that.
