According to the International Land-Based Shark Fishing Association, land-based fishing is a form of extreme sport fishing that takes place from rocky platforms instead of on the beach or in boats. It's also restricted to only a few countries around the world, such as South Africa, New Zealand and Australia, which is home to the MorningTide Fishing crew.

While sharks can be caught in shallow waters, a majority of the targeted species are billfish and larger tuna, with some smaller game fish like Spanish mackerel and wahoo being caught.
