A century ago many of our nation’s iconic game and sport fish species populations were severely depleted and we faced a fish and wildlife conservation crisis.
Hunters, the shooting sports industry and other conservationists banded together with state fish and wildlife agencies to create a trust fund for the restoration of game species. Later, anglers and the fishing and boating industries did the same for sport fish.
Today, our fish and wildlife agencies are challenged with inadequate funding, staff and resources due to ever-increasing demands on funding sources.

Crane will discuss how his organization protects the traditions of hunting, angling, recreational shooting and trapping. In addition, he will talk about some of the key federal and state policies the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation will focus on in 2016.
Morris will talk about what is needed to preserve our rich hunting and fishing heritage and why sustaining America’s fish and wildlife resources is so important to our nation.
